About the Portal

TN WISDOM Portal

Wildlife Information System & Documents Management

The TN WISDOM portal is a web-based platform integrated with mobile application that facilitates collecting real-time spatial data on wildlife-related phenomena, incidents, and accidents commonly encountered by the staff of the Forest Department.

  1. Wildlife roadkill incidents
  2. Train-wildlife accidents
  3. Electrocution incidents of wild animals
  4. Human-wildlife conflicts (HWC), including compensation details on human death, human injury, livestock loss, property damage, and crop damage
  5. Stranding of marine animals
  6. Wildlife diseases - report and incidence

Data collected by Forest Department staff is automatically uploaded to the TN WISDOM portal and displayed on its dashboard. This enables state-wide and unit-wise real-time monitoring, supports hotspot identification, helps understand spatio-temporal patterns, and assists in mitigation, wildlife conservation, research, and knowledge sharing in Tamil Nadu.

The portal also hosts a digital document repository titled Resources, covering vital documents such as Working Plans, Management Plans, Tiger Conservation Plans, publications, scientific reports, wildlife policy documents, field manuals, field guides, standard operating procedures, guidelines, and important Government Orders related to wildlife of Tamil Nadu. This repository serves as a centralized hub for wildlife and biodiversity documents of Tamil Nadu.
